The Caribbean’s Premier Electric Solutions Provider Releases its 2023 Events Line-Up

Castries, St. Lucia, March 1st, 2023: On the heels of a successful return to face-to-face events in 2022, the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC), announces its 2023 Calendar of Events, which will deliver even greater value for attendees. This year’s event lineup features virtual, in-person and hybrid events, catering to a variety of attendees, across a wide spectrum of geographical locations and professional/business development aspirations.

CARILEC’S hallmark leadership event, the Chief Executive Officers’ and Leadership Conference will be co-hosted with member utility, Consorcio Energetico Punta Cana (CEPM), in the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana, in May 2023. Energy sector leaders can expect a stellar speaker line-up at this premier event. The Human Resource, Corporate Communications and Customer Service (HRCCCS) Conference will be held in Trinidad & Tobago, from March 29th to 31st, in conjunction with the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business’ Distinguished Leadership and Innovation Conference, scheduled for March 28th at the same venue. Delegates can attend both conferences at an attractive rate, thereby increasing their return on investment.

Additionally, the Engineering and Procurement Conference and Exhibition will return as a live event, also scheduled to be held in Trinidad & Tobago, from July 23rdto 27th. CARILEC is excited about the return of this conference to an in-person format, as many of its utility and associate members have indicated that they had particularly missed the sharing of technological and technical expertise, that this event had become known for. The Occupational Health and Safety Symposium, which is one of the Association’s most successful virtual events, will return to an in-person format, to be held in Grenada, from November 16thto 17th.

The CARILEC Resilient Energy Community (CAREC) Conference and Tradeshow, held last September, in Miami, USA, recorded an impressive attendance of almost 300delegates. This year’s event will feature cutting edge technologies and solutions with regards to Renewable Energy, Grid Modernization and enhancing resiliency in the energy sector. Powerline workers can also look forward to the return of the popular Lineworkers’ Rodeo & Safety Training. This event will be held in two components, virtually and in-person, in St. Lucia (hybrid format), the home of the CARILEC Secretariat Headquarters, from April 15thto 16th, with the support and assistance of member utility, the St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC), as co-host. CARILEC is particularly thrilled about the return of the event, as it is one where lineworkers from across the region can improve their technical skills and engage in a fun and entertaining event, marked by a spirit of collaboration and comradery.

A new addition to CARILEC’s event line-up is the Coaching and Leadership Symposium, a virtual event geared towards professionals in the energy sector and beyond, who are passionate about personal and professional development, with the goal of enhancing individual and organizational performance at all levels. This Symposium, scheduled for May 31st, is also tailored to equip current leaders with the skills and tools to excel in their positions and strategically influence the next generation of leaders. This Symposium will form part of a series of coaching events, aimed at developing energy sector leaders across the region. Other virtual events include the Disaster Management Roundtable to be held on April 25thand the Geographic Information Systems Symposium slated for October 17thto 18th.

CARILEC’s Executive Director, Dr. Cletus Bertin, provided some insight into the Association’s overall objectives for its 2023 events, “CARILEC, by virtue of being a membership organization is particularly focused on the continued growth and development of its members within the regional energy sector and by extension globally. This year, the Association has expanded its events repertoire to include coaching and mentoring, with the specific goal of nurturing and harnessing leadership skills, which is essential in building successful teams and organizations. We also recognize that our members and partners are eager to re-engage in face-to-face learning and networking, which in the past (pre-COVID-19) they had looked forward to, through our signature events. However, we are also cognizant of the rising costs of travel and accommodation, and we have therefore decided to host a blend of both virtual and in-person events in 2023. We look forward to hosting our members, partners, and delegates over the course of 2023 and beyond, online and in person.”

The Association remains committed towards planning and executing events which promote innovative and groundbreaking energy solutions, to propel the realization of the vision of a sustainable energy future for the people of the Caribbean.
