SKELEC Invites Applications for Generation Development Specialist / Project Manager
Basseterre, St. Kitts (January 29th, 2026) — The St. Kitts Electricity Company Limited (SKELEC) is inviting applications from qualified professionals for the position of Generation Development Specialist/Project Manager, to be assigned to the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) for the Expansion of the Needsmust Power Plant Project.

This major infrastructure initiative aims to modernize and expand SKELEC’s generating capacity while strengthening the reliability and resilience of electricity supply across St. Kitts. The project includes the development of a new dual-fuel power plant and the integration of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to support grid stability and increased renewable energy.
The Generation Development Specialist/Project Manager will play a central role in overseeing the project from inception through commissioning and handover. Responsibilities include managing the Engineering Consultant and EPC contractor, coordinating procurement and construction activities, liaising with key stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with financing and technical requirements throughout the project.
Interested applicants are required to submit a comprehensive curriculum vitae and a brief proposal outlining their approach, experience, and qualifications. The engagement period is expected to span approximately 30 months, commencing in February.
