No further load reduction outages expected
Basseterre, St. Kitts (22nd May 2024)—The St. Kitts Electricity Company (SKELEC) Ltd wishes to advise that no further load reduction outages are expected at this time as generation capacity continues to increase. The SKELEC extends gratitude to our generation teams who dedicated countless hours and effort towards repair and maintenance of our generators.
SKELEC however wishes to advise that the situation at the Power Plant is dynamic as repairs and maintenance work is still ongoing. As such, the company may need to re-engage in some load management strategies, in the event of an unexpected shortfall in generation capacity.
